The Society shall operate in the state of Assam The society works for promotion of sports and recreational activities; cultural, literary and social activities; social welfare and charitable activities.

New Society Registration

Register a brand-new society under the Societies Registration Act.

Documents required (8)

  • Memorandum of Association (MoA) with objectives
  • Rules & regulations / bye-laws
  • Proceedings of the first general meeting
  • Photo & signature sheets of all committee members
  • ID & address proof of all members (Aadhaar/PAN)
  • Affidavit by the President
  • Office address proof: house-rent declaration / land documents
  • Authorisation letter for filing
Registration Renewal / Annual Return

Yearly filing of the governing-body list with the Registrar (state rules vary).

  • Existing registration certificate
  • Current list of governing body / office bearers
  • AGM proceedings adopting the committee
  • Audited accounts of the year
  • Renewal fee challan (as per state)
Annual Audit of Accounts

Statutory audit of the society's books by a Chartered Accountant.

  • Cash book, ledger and receipts & payments account
  • Bank statements & passbook for the financial year
  • Vouchers, bills and donation receipts
  • Previous year's audited statements
  • Fixed-asset register
PAN Card (Society)

Permanent Account Number in the society's name — needed for banking and every filing.

  • Registration certificate (attested)
  • MoA / bye-laws copy
  • Resolution authorising the applicant
  • Office address proof
  • ID proof of authorised signatory
12A Registration (Income-Tax Exemption)

Exempts the society's income from income tax. Filed online via Form 10A/10AB.

  • Registration certificate & MoA (self-certified)
  • Society PAN card
  • Accounts of up to the last 3 years (if operating)
  • Activity report / note on charitable activities
  • Bank account details
  • Digital signature / e-verification of authorised person
80G Registration (Donor Tax Benefit)

Lets your donors claim tax deduction — greatly boosts fundraising. Form 10A/10AB.

  • 12A registration order (usually obtained first/along)
  • Registration certificate & MoA
  • Society PAN card
  • Audited accounts of up to the last 3 years
  • List of donors and activities undertaken
  • Bank account details
NGO Darpan (NITI Aayog) ID

Unique ID on the government NGO portal — mandatory for government grants.

CSR-1 Registration (Corporate CSR Funds)

MCA registration that makes the society eligible to receive corporate CSR funding.

  • Digital signature (DSC) of authorised person
  • Board resolution authorising the filing
FCRA Registration (Foreign Funds)

Ministry of Home Affairs permission to receive foreign contributions.

  • FCRA-designated SBI account (New Delhi main branch)
